The Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) Program

Calendar: 6 Week Program: September 9, 2024 - October 16, 2024 : 6-8pm

Program Summary
 
Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a six-week course focusing on the foundational concepts of AI and its practical applications in the job market. This course will include a brief history of AI, an introduction to basic concepts and terminologies, quizzes, demonstrations, and hands-on exercises on how AI can be effectively used for writing, researching, and image generation for professional career development. This course will also cover the ethical considerations and future applications of AI, and students will be tasked with completing research assignments on these topics.

This Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) course directly supports Cañada College's mission by providing quality education that prepares students for the modern workforce and community innovation. This program equips students with vital AI skills, fostering technological proficiency and empowering them to transform their lives and communities.

 

How you Will Learn

Hybrid Program - In person & Zoom

Mondays in person at San Mateo Adult and Career Education (789 E Poplar Ave San Mateo, CA 94401)

Wednesdays on Zoom from 6-8pm  (Zoom instructions will be given upon class start)

 

Pre-requisites

 

No Prior Experience Required: The course is designed for beginners, so no previous experience with AI or programming is necessary.
Basic Computer Skills: Familiarity with using a computer, browsing the internet, and basic software applications.
Educational Background: While a specific degree might not be necessary, a high school diploma or equivalent could be beneficial for understanding the course content.
