Field Trip/Excursion Policies and Guidelines
Field trips/ excursions transform classroom learning into immersive experiences, which can lead to deeper understanding and lasting memories. They can provide hands-on opportunities to develop practical skills and foster personal growth by encouraging teamwork, and communication.
Throughout the semester/school year, the College may sponsor voluntary off-campus field trips/excursions. If you choose to participate, be advised that you have agreed to hold the district, its officers, agents and employees harmless from any and all liability or claims which may arise out of or in connection with your participation in the activity. Trip organizer is encouraged to plan ahead and follow the policies and guidelines to minimize any liability.

Organizer (Faculty/ Staff) Must Complete
- Request for Field Trip/ Excursion Approval Form
- Budget- detail of estimated cost (sample budget template)
- Schedule Event Orientation to review:
- Event logistics
- Pre and post event paperwork/approvals
- Participant expectations:
- Student Code of Conduct
- Pre and post presentations (optional)
- Necessary forms (pre-approval, liability/waiver, post event forms, etc.)
- List of student participants, including G#
- Statement of Conference Expense Form
Student Must Complete
- Release from Liability, Behavior Standards, Medical Consent Form
- Photo Release Form
- Student Voluntary Transportation Agreement Form (applicable if the student is providing their own transportation)
- Participate in Event Orientation
- Title IX Certification
